Tesla's Story:

My journey with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) began when I suddenly lost the ability to lift my left foot. Thinking the difficulty was weakness from my pregnancy - I pushed through. However, when I experienced a fall with my new baby girl I began to seek medical attention. After multiple doctor visits, testing, and meetings with specialists, I was finally diagnosed with ALS.

ALS progresses over time, causing muscle weakness, loss of coordination, and eventually paralysis. At this advanced stage in my ALS journey, the physical deterioration makes even the simplest of tasks such as bathing, cooking, or dressing, impossible without assistance from professionals. I now require 24-hour in-home care and the cost of care is continuously rising.

Despite these challenges, I created my organization TesLove to provide free education and resources for others struggling with this disease. I am hoping to raise enough funds to cover the cost of my care so that I can continue to serve the ALS community and show my daughter that no matter what, you can always help others.
